I've never talked to anyone about my feelings. Doesn't that mean I'm weak?

Actually, it's the opposite.
It takes real strength to say, "I need help." It takes courage to face your pain, unpack your past, and trust someone with your story.

Therapy isn't for the weak. It's for the brave, the willing, and the ready. The strongest people are those who choose growth over staying stuck.

How should I prepare for my first session, and what can I expect?

Come ready to talk about you
, even if that feels unfamiliar or uncomfortable. Your story matters, and your openness helps me understand how to support you best.

Sessions are conversational in nature. You're encouraged to ask questions, pause for clarity, and show up just as you are.
You may feel challenged, and you'll likely feel something, but I approach with care, compassion, and gentleness.

Expect to grow in mind, body, and spirit because this work is about becoming MIGHTY.

What's the difference between talking to a therapist vs. talking to a friend or family member?

Here's what makes therapy different:
A licensed therapist is trained to listen deeply, ask the right questions, identify patterns, and guide you toward lasting change, without bias or personal attachment.

While friends and family can be supportive, they may not have the tools to help you process complex emotions, trauma, or mental health challenges.
Therapy is a confidential space that centers you without judgment or emotional entanglement.

Think of it this way: Friends give advice. Therapists give you tools.

How do virtual sessions work?

Simple. Sessions are conducted through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform.

You'll receive a private link before each session, just find a quiet, confidential space and bring yourself.
No commute. No waiting room. Just you, me, and your healing journey.

How long will I be in therapy?

That depends on you.
Every person brings a unique mix of experiences, coping patterns, belief systems, and goals. Some clients attend therapy for several months and feel equipped to continue independently. Others choose ongoing support as part of their mental wellness maintenance.

Think of therapy like training your mind; it's not about how long you stay, but how deeply you're committed to your growth. You're always welcome to return for check-ins or during times of transition.

What if I'm in crisis or need support after hours?

If you're in immediate danger
or experiencing a medical emergency, please call 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or 911.

If you're not in immediate danger but feel you need urgent support, reach out and I'll do my best to schedule an appointment within 24–48 hours. You don't have to handle a crisis alone.

Will you tell anyone what we discuss in therapy?

What you share stays here.
I follow strict legal and ethical guidelines to protect your privacy.

However, there are a few exceptions: If there's concern that you may harm yourself or someone else, or if there's suspected abuse of a minor or vulnerable adult. I may be legally required to report it. I'll always aim to have an open conversation with you about this first.

Your trust matters to me, and I protect it.

Do you accept insurance?
Currently, Mighty Mindful Wellness is in-network with some providers depending on your state, and out-of-network for others. However, we can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement, depending on your out-of-network benefits.

Good news: Many clients find that investing in their mental health directly gives them more control over their healing journey. Check with your insurance provider for details on what they cover.

What states are you licensed in?

Mighty Mindful Wellness is currently licensed in North Carolina, Illinois, Texas, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia and we continue expanding to serve more communities.

What is your cancellation policy?

We get it, life happens.
I ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your session.

Cancellations made within 24 hours of your appointment will result in a $60 late cancellation fee. If you cancel more than 24 hours in advance, you may reschedule when you’re ready.

Can I take a break from therapy and come back later?

Absolutely.
You're always welcome to return when life calls for extra support. Therapy isn't a one-size-fits-all process, it's a tool you can return to when needed.

Think of it as having a safe harbor whenever storms arise.

Why is therapy important?
Because you deserve to feel at home in your own life.

Therapy gives you space to reset your mindset, process emotional weight, build emotional intelligence, and reconnect with your most authentic self. It's not about fixing you, it's about guiding you back to the version of you that feels most safe, centered, and seen.

The question isn't whether you need therapy. It's whether you're ready to invest in becoming the most empowered version of yourself.
